I had frankly forgotten that I had this blog because I have been so busy establishing an online tea business: www.JAS-eTea.com. Most recently, I have transitioned the website to a new look and feel. I think everyone will find it pleasing. Take some time to check out the new site. If you find something that is not working correctly, I would sincerely appreciate the feedback.
From the early start of the business where I focused primarily on pu-erh tea, I have expanded the selection to include a wonderful selection of white, green, oolong and black teas. These are premium teas in which you will not be disappointed. What is unique about our white, green, oolong and black teas is that they are not acquired through large distributors but directly from the individual small tea farmers and teamasters.
In addition, you will find that we carry a large assortment of pu-erh teas. I am most proud of two particular tea factories that I now represent: Summit Tea Factory and JK Tea Factory. What is special about these teas is that they are all made by hand and they are all harvested from high in the mountains from trees that usually between 200 and 400 years old. While these teas are not certified as being organic, the villagers in the high mountains do not use chemicals. One reason is that they have never felt a need; another reason is that many of these mountain villages are not even accessible via car. One village requires a hike of a couple hours after leaving the road. One of the things that I find amazing about these teas is how well balanced they are at a very young age. This is in strong contrast to a young tea from one of the major tea factories. The major tea factories primarily use bush tea that is easier to harvest and access.
